AI literacy, use-case prioritisation, build-buy-partner, KPIs and ROI, AI pricing models, responsible AI, governance, readiness and scaling from pilot to enterprise for the AIB-C01 beta exam
The AWS Certified AI Business Strategist (AIB-C01) is the first exam in AWS's new Business certification category. It validates a business professional's ability to translate AI capabilities into business outcomes, establish responsible AI practices, evaluate opportunities to optimize AI solutions and drive AI adoption at scale. The exam is in beta: registration opened September 1, 2026 and beta delivery began September 29, 2026. Earn it by February 15, 2027 to get an additional Early Adopter digital badge.
This exam is for business professionals who evaluate, champion or scale AI initiatives but do not build AI solutions themselves: product and program managers, sales and business development professionals, line-of-business leaders, consultants, business analysts and marketers. No coding, AWS implementation experience or other AWS certification is required.

The AIB-C01 beta exam has 85 questions in multiple-choice and multiple-response format, and you have 170 minutes to complete it. The exam guide lists 130 minutes, which is most likely the standard exam length. Results are pass/fail on a scaled score of 100–1,000, and the passing score is 700. The beta costs $50 USD (standard price $100 USD) and is available at Pearson testing centers or online proctored, in English and Japanese.
Recommended experience: 6 months of experience working with or alongside teams adopting AI. Basic familiarity with AI concepts and a business-level awareness of what AWS AI services offer; hands-on experience is not required.

Question 1 · AI Strategy and Business Value Creation
A logistics company funded an AI pilot to forecast staffing needs in its warehouses. After nine months and two extensions, the forecasts are no more accurate than the spreadsheet method that planners already use. The data team reports that the hourly labor data the model needs is not recorded today and would take two years to collect. During the pilot, the company also sold half of the warehouses in scope. What should the AI business strategist recommend to the steering committee?
Answer: B
Option B is correct because the pilot shows no improvement over the current baseline, the data it depends on will not exist for two years, and the business scope has shrunk, so the initiative fails on value, feasibility, and strategic alignment. Ending it and capturing what was learned frees budget for initiatives with better prospects. Option A scales a solution that has not proven any value. Option C spends more money on the model when the real constraint is missing data. Option D keeps paying a team for two years to wait on data for a use case whose business case has weakened.

Question 2 · AI Fundamentals and Literacy
A retail chain is reviewing five proposed AI projects. The innovation lead wants to group the proposals by the type of AI capability each one needs. Which proposals require computer vision? (Select TWO.)
Answers: A, D
Options A and D are correct because both require AI to interpret images: finding gaps on shelves in camera photos, and comparing faces in a selfie and an ID photo, which AWS offers through image analysis services such as Amazon Rekognition. Option B analyzes text, which is natural language processing. Option C is a recommendation engine use case that learns from behavioral data. Option E is time-series forecasting on structured sales data.

Question 3 · AI Governance and Responsible AI Leadership
An energy utility is launching an AI voice assistant to handle billing calls. In testing, callers were frustrated when they found out partway through a call that they had been talking to AI. Leadership decides that the assistant will state at the start of each call that it is an AI system, and the company will publish what the assistant can and cannot do and how to reach a person. Which responsible AI dimension does this decision MOST directly address?
Answer: C
Option C is correct because AWS defines transparency as enabling stakeholders to make informed choices about their engagement with an AI system, which is what disclosing the AI and its limits does. Option A concerns how a system affects different groups of people, which this decision does not change. Option B is about understanding and evaluating why the system produced a particular output, not about telling people they are using AI. Option D is about producing correct outputs, even with unexpected or adversarial inputs.

These sample questions are not part of the AIB-C01 practice exam, so you won't meet them again when you take it.
This practice exam has 65 questions, and exam mode gives you 130 minutes to answer them. The 130 minutes match the exam length in the AWS exam guide for AIB-C01. The beta exam you can book now is longer: 85 questions in 170 minutes. Practice mode has no timer.
In format, yes: questions are multiple choice (one correct answer) or multiple response (two or more), spread across the 4 exam domains in close to the weights the official exam guide gives them. Scoring differs: AWS reports a scaled score from 100 to 1,000 and you pass at 700, while this practice exam shows the raw percentage you got right. For how hard the exam is, whether it is worth it and how long to study, read our AWS AI Business Strategist certification guide.
Aim for 80% or more, consistently, on full-length attempts in exam mode, not just once. That leaves a margin over the 700 out of 1,000 you need on the real AIB-C01 exam, whose questions will all be new to you. Repeat attempts here show the same questions, so judge yourself by first attempts and by whether you can explain each answer. No practice score guarantees a pass.
No. The AIB-C01 practice exam is free and needs no account. Your progress and score history are saved in this browser, so they stay on this device and are lost if you clear your browser data.
Start in practice mode, which tells you after each question whether you were right and explains the answer. When you score well there, switch to exam mode: 130 minutes and no feedback until the end, like test day. Your results break the score down by domain, so you can see which domains to study before your next attempt.
